We drew on the past experience in safety shoes manufacturing, gathered the opinions of hundreds of workers and held conversations with multiple workers in the professional fields to learn about the functionalities that the manual workers needed and cared about. The Stitch Down series were later designed accordingly. They have reel knobs with steel wires, non-metallic toe guards made of fiber-reinforced plastic and puncture resistant soles consisting of elastic fabric. We even added the never-detaching design as well as the Bootie water resistant technology for the sock linings. They can thus provide all manual workers with the best protection while being more water resistant, durable and comfortable to wear.
Stitch Down: the hundred-year never-detaching craft for difficult work environments!
Stitch Down (SD) was originally a craft of stitching the handmade leather shoes handed down from generation to generation in Europe, which makes the history of it more than hundreds of years. Most of the gentry and nobles in the past chose the leather shoes as their main footwear and the pavements were not as flat as they are today. In order to improve the durability of the leather shoes, the craftsmen hand-stitched the upper and the midsole of a shoe before stitching them with the sole for the second round. The sole could then be attached closely to the body of the shoe, ensuring that it would never be detached. This also allowed the expensive handmade leather shoes to be worn for more years.
We have inherited and optimized the traditional SD technique for the PATRONI to make the appearance and practicability of the shoes better fit in the contemporary customs. We bind the midsole and the sole with waterproof glue, then stitch the upper with the sole and add a waterproof cushion between them to tighten the attachment and achieve the goal of never-detaching.” We even dispose of the double-loop stitching to lessen the extension of the midsole, reduce the weight and avoid edges that are too wide affecting the appearance of the shoe. Furthermore, the waterproof cushion added between the upper and the sole can guarantee the prevention of water getting in the shoes from the sides of the sole and the body.
Collocation of the waterproof fabric and the Bootie sock linings: resisting water from any angle
In order to enhance the waterproof performance, we use the waterproof materials (cowhide or microfiber leather made of PU) for all PATRONI SD series shoes, which have passed the CE EN ISO 20345 test. Soak a shoe in the water, bend it for tens of thousands of times and the water still cannot get through its upper (WPA). We even add a Bootie waterproof sock lining structure between the upper and the insole to enhance the water resistance functionality (this also passed the WR test). Finally, the SD technique is applied when stitching the upper with the sole to avoid gaps between them and further achieve the best waterproof performance.
With the never-detaching soles (thanks to the SD craft) and the Bootie sock lining and waterproof technology, the PATRONI SD series safety shoes, regardless of the anti-static, insulated, boot-type, high-top or low-top ones, definitely meet your needs for work.
