TECHNOLOGY—WATERPROOF
WATERPROOF THEORY
The PATRONI membrane blocks moisture from the outside, while allowing moisture inside to evaporate. PATRONI has over 1 million pores per square inch that prevent water from getting to your feet while allowing sweat vapor to pass right through, keeping your feet dry and comfortable in all conditions.
HOW WE TEST
Products being designed to carry the promise are placed on realistic foot forms and are tested for up to hundreds of thousands of steps in a water bath.
And we use the centrifugal tester to testing from the inside-out. Waterproof footwear is filled with water and spun at high speeds. The resulting pressure forces water through even the smallest of holes to reveal leaks. And if those leaks exist, the footwear is not passed for production.
ADDITIONAL TECHNOLOGY-STITCH DOWN
Stitch down construction is generally used for serious work boots, which is why it is so commonly seen from bootmakers that reside in the Pacific Northwest of North America where boots are made for heavy duty jobs such as logging and fighting wildfires. It is also fairly water resistant.
